"Sorry to hear about your coils. Burning out original coils in just two weeks is definitely not normal. Here are a few things you should check immediately before installing new ones:
Check your Spark Plugs: This is the most common cause. If the spark plug gap is too wide or the plugs are worn out, the coil has to work twice as hard to create a spark, causing it to overheat and burn out quickly.
Wiring Harness & Connectors: The 1MZ engine runs very hot, especially near cylinders 1-3 (near the firewall). Check the plastic connectors and wires for cracks or loose pins. Bad contact can kill a coil in days.
Counterfeit Parts: Be careful with 'Original' parts sold at low prices. There are many fake Toyota/Denso coils that look real but have poor internal components.
ECU Issues: Although rare, sometimes the ECU sends a constant signal to the coil instead of a pulse, which will melt the coil almost instantly.
Don't put new coils in until you check the spark plugs first! Hope this helps you fix the issue.
